Imagine getting married in the middle of an apple orchard surrounded by your best friends and family. Beginning your family’s story on an historic property where there has been so much life already. Carly-Rae & Lucas tied the knot at the Historic Hat Creek Ranch in Cache Creek on one of the most beautiful days in September. The light was so, so beautiful!
Carly-Rae arrived to the ceremony and her loving father helped her from the horse drawn carriage and walked her down the aisle to her awaiting cowboy. You see, Lucas is a real-life cowboy – he has the boots and the belt buckle to prove it! Carly-Rae looked absolutely stunning in what was one of my favourite dresses of the summer! She is a stunning woman and the dress was definitely made for her. (You’re a lucky man, Lucas!) The ceremony concluded with the newly married couple swept away for a private carraige ride.
Carly-Rae and Lucas entered their reception on horseback. One more time… ON HORSEBACK. Seriously! Are you believing this fairlytale?? Carly-Rae even rode in side-saddle (I think that’s what it’s called!)! I have to admit… there is something so beautiful and calming about a bride that just lets the day roll on as it happens and has no worries at all.
The reception was chalk-full of delicious food and a stunning mountain backdrop. Tears were shed while speeches were given, and the master of ceremony was a sweet little gal who stole the show (you’ll see what I mean below). The dance was held in a hay barn strung with lights and hay bales for seating. Children ran wild and danced until they couldn’t dance anymore.
