Christie and Rob booked their wedding photography with me while living in a different province. That means, our first meeting was a blind date. Christie was happy that I wasn’t “a crazy”, and I was glad she wasn’t, too!
We talked wedding details over coffee and I knew that Rob and Christie’s wedding was going to be amazing right from the get-go.
Being a Kelowna wedding photographer has brought me to the Hotel Eldorado many times, but I have to say… Yuriko from Vintage Origami went above and beyond! I am constantly blown away by her beautiful decor. In addition to the beautiful views during the rooftop ceremony, Yuriko provided even more beautiful decor along with stunning florals from Society Florals. Words cannot describe how beautiful Christie looked in one of the most unique dresses I have ever seen. Her stunning make-up by Jenny McKinney put her over the top! Of course, Rob was looking classically handsome in his Hugo Boss suit. English Rose Weddings kept the day flowing seamlessly – even managing to fend off the rain with their super powers!
There isn’t much I can say about Christie and Rob’s wedding that is going to be better than looking at the pictures. Let’s do that!

There’s something I love about Danika and Chase. They’re brave.
They climbed a mountain for their engagement portraits (take a look here) and they braved a cold and windy beach for their wedding day portraits.
Their bravery paid off – they even had a Pirate ship sail into the background of some of their portraits. (ok- so it was really a sailboat… but it looks like a Pirate ship!)
Their simple, classic, and beautiful reception was held at the always wonderful Hotel Eldorado. There were emotional speeches, a hilarious song sang and acted out by Grandpa, cake in the face, shots, and a perfect little family dance with their ADORABLE daughter.
Here it is…!
Enjoy!

First comes love, second comes marriage, then comes a baby in a baby carriage!
This little nursery rhyme proved true for Amanda & Ryan, who fell in love over coffee, had a beautiful wedding at the Eldorado Hotel in Kelowna (you can see it here), and then created a little masterpiece named Mr.Parker. A work of art, he is!
I’ve known from the day I met Amanda and Ryan, that they would make great parents. In fact, I feel like I should win a prize for predicting that they would have a baby within the first year of their marriage! Amanda just oozes all the beautiful qualities of a mother and it seems like Parker is her third, forth, or fifth baby, not her first. She holds him, calms him, and snuggles him with care and confidence. And there is something just slightly more beautiful about her since the last time I saw her – and I can’t put my finger on it. I’m sure Parker has something to do with that 😉 And Ryan – well… geeez. Just wait until you see the father-son Hallmark moments from this session. Oh and that suitcase that Parker is snuggled up in – it was Ryan’s grandfather’s! I love incorporating personal touches like that.
Of course, I can’t leave out Daisy, Parker’s doggy sibling. Every time I photograph Ryan and Amanda, Daisy steals the show. It doesn’t even matter though because she is so darn adorable!
I loved snuggling your baby, Amanda and Ryan! Please have some more! (too soon??)
Please people, bring me your babies and I will give you beautiful photos in exchange for snuggles<3
You can find the amazing baby care products that you see in this blog post over at The Honest Company. They provide effective, but unquestionably safe, eco-friendly, beautiful, convenient, and affordable products – and they make superb baby shower gifts!
Oh dear goodness, friends…
Here’s another amazing wedding that I am so excited to share with you. Amanda and Ryan were married in September at the Hotel Eldorado in Kelowna. This venue is a beautiful, on the lake venue. If you are coming from out of town for your wedding, it’s a perfect location for yourself and your guests to soak in the beauty of Kelowna.
Amanda and Ryan had a vision for their wedding and executed it perfectly with the help of an amazing team of vendors. The wedding was to be all about love: vintage, classic, elegant and about the love between them, their families, and their love of coffee. They incorporated many personal touches including the 1979 Buick Ryan’s grandfather passed down, and Ryan restored. They also incorporated the McDougall family mailbox in their coffee favour table (These two LOVE their coffee) – a masterpiece designed and styled by Yuriko of Vintage Origami!
The bridesmaids and flower girls all wore different dresses in the same colour palette with soft coral, lavender, and blush pink. The flower girls wore the most adorable floral crowns by Classic Creations, who also made Amanda’s beautiful bouquet. Seriously…. imagine being a small girl and getting to wear a pretty dress and a floral crown!! I would have been the happiest child of life in that moment! The groomsmen’s ties were handmade by Ryan’s mother Nancy who also made the adorable robes the girls wore while getting ready in the morning.
The wedding was absolutely stunning and went off without a hitch – that’s what happens when you have Laura from English Rose Weddings as your planner extaordinaire!
And do you know what was the best part of this wedding, for me? Most people would say… obviously, the cupcakes at the end of the day. Because well, who doesn’t love a Sugar Sweet Cake Co. cupcake??? Especially someone who loves the sweets as much as I do. But nope… I satisfied my sweets craving with… the people (ok fine… and a cupcake. Or two). Amanda and Ryan are absolutely one of the sweetest couples I have ever met. They both made it feel like I was just another member of the family, there to take part of their special day. I definitely shed a tear (or a zillion) during their emotional ceremony. Their families – just lovely. Their trust, kindess, and lovability (yes, I made this word up) made my job a whole lot easier!
I really feel like I hit the jackpot with this wedding. It’s the best feeling in the world when at the end of it all, I’ve made some very wonderful friends. Amanda and Ryan – I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for you, and I know it’s going to be fantastic. You’re a beautiful couple and you deserve all the beauty life has to offer!
