A lot of playing, a lot of snuggling, hugging, kissing, being silly, playing games… that is basically what a family photography session looks like with me. You may even get a couple of terrible jokes! And let’s not forget crying toddlers and panicked parents and said toddler lunges towards the lake.
All in all, it’s a bunch of fun and being a Kelowna Family Photographer is the best!
Enjoy these images of this sweet and silly family!
Being a Kelowna Wedding Photographer means sunny weddings by summer and cold, snowy engagement sessions by winter! Often, my favourite locations to photograph couples at are just stops on the side of the road! No two locations are the same and it makes it so that each couple has their own unique engagement images. Tash & Tyler even brought their sweet little (brand new) fur baby, Baxter, along for the fun (Yes, they named him after the dog in the Anchorman movie, which just happens to be one of my favourite movies of all time!). Baxter just wanted to run around and I probably spent the first 10 minutes giving Baxter his own little solo session. I’ve got to say – Tash & Tyler were MUCH better listeners than Baxter!
Being a Kelowna wedding photographer has it’s perks! Aside from meeting lovely people all the time and getting to be surrounded by love all the time, I get to spend a fair amount of time at some of the most beautiful locations in Kelowna. Liz & Brandon are getting married next year at Manteo Resort. They really wanted to capture the beauty that the Okanagan has to offer in their engagement images. Bertram Creek is the perfect location to soak up all the beautiful Okanagan views and the evening light is absolutely stunning!
Until next year, here are some beautiful images of this sweet couple!
There’s something I love about Danika and Chase. They’re brave.
They climbed a mountain for their engagement portraits (take a look here) and they braved a cold and windy beach for their wedding day portraits.
Their bravery paid off – they even had a Pirate ship sail into the background of some of their portraits. (ok- so it was really a sailboat… but it looks like a Pirate ship!)
Their simple, classic, and beautiful reception was held at the always wonderful Hotel Eldorado. There were emotional speeches, a hilarious song sang and acted out by Grandpa, cake in the face, shots, and a perfect little family dance with their ADORABLE daughter.
You know those women who just glow when they are pregnant? The ones who are beautiful with their perfect bellies and who just ooze pregnancy perfection. Meet Caity. That woman is her. Her fiance, Jayden is equally as wonderful. A gentleman who takes good care of his girl, showering her with affection. These two are expecting a sweet little girl nearly any time now – Caity’s blush dress, a perfect fit for the session.
There’s a lot going on in the lives of these two and it’s only the beginning!
You’ll see their faces grace the pages of my blog again in July – they’re getting married!
Lori & Ash held their very intimate vow renewal ceremony upon a cliff overlooking the beautiful Okanagan Lake. I mean, what a brilliant idea. Who wouldn’t want a wedding ceremony on a cliff with endless views of the mountains and the lake?
Aside from romantic, these two are witty, sarcastic, hilarious. So, so hilarious, these two.
There is never a dull moment. They’re happy: make fun of each other. They’re mad: make fun of each other. It seriously is the foundation upon which their relationship lies.
Lori and Ash have been married for four years, and when they decided they wanted to renew their vows, they gathered their closest friends and held an intimate ceremony on the cliffs at Bertram Creek in Kelowna.
There are plenty of beautiful landscapes in Kelowna and many beautiful venues that provide the views for a beautiful wedding ceremony, but nothing beats a wedding ceremony in a completely undeveloped area. No buildings in sight, very few people… it was very secluded and intimate. What I am saying is… if you are having an intimate wedding in the middle of nowhere (or an intimate Kelowna wedding, or an intimate Okanagan wedding), please, please, bring me to photograph it!
I love intimate weddings (less than 60 guests). I love big weddings too, but I love the calm, serence, laid back nature of intimate weddings. As an “outsider”, I am able to get comfortable with the guests and the guests become more comfortable with me, because I am afforded the ability to meet everyone, talk and joke with them. This makes the comfort level fantastic and I am able to get much better candid moments – which I love!!
I find that intimate weddings are filled with so much emotion – and I’m a sucker for it. If you look closely enough, you’ll definitely see a few tears streaming down my face. It’s a good thing I have a camera to hide behind 😉
Lori & Ash (ok, let’s be honest, it was PROBABLY Lori’s idea!), had a beautiful vision in mind and were able to execute it perfectly. I feel honoured to have been able to document their dream-like vow renewal! Enjoy the photos!
