I’ve known this Momma since I moved to Kelowna and I have been fortunate enough to get to know her and see her family grow. Her adorable little boys are the sweetest little things you’ll ever lay your eyes on! Lisa is actually one of the most beautiful people I know – inside and out, by a long shot!
It’s people like Lisa and her family that keep me doing what I’m doing. I actually have the best job!
For the Brown’s session, we adventured around Knox Mountain on what should have been a cool fall day, but ended up being a warm summer day! I guess that being a Kelowna Family Photographer means that I have to be ready for fall or summer at any given moment between August and October!
Oh the joys of being a Kelowna Newborn Photographer…
Mainly… snuggling babies. But also, meeting their siblings and seeing the love they have for their new baby. These two sweeties LOVED snuggling their little brother. At first, they were hesitant but once they got used to it, they did not want to put him down. It was ridiculously adorable!
I might be biased, having two August babies of my own, BUT…. August / early September are the best times to have a baby. In all seriousness, the weather is getting cooler and snuggling a newborn is the best feeling!
One of my favourite joys in life is snuggling a newborn baby. If I could just always have a newborn baby, I would. Ok, maybe not, I really do like to sleep! But I would snuggle one every.single.day.
Here is sweet miss Quinn at just over a week old! Enjoy all of her sweetness!
A lot of playing, a lot of snuggling, hugging, kissing, being silly, playing games… that is basically what a family photography session looks like with me. You may even get a couple of terrible jokes! And let’s not forget crying toddlers and panicked parents and said toddler lunges towards the lake.
All in all, it’s a bunch of fun and being a Kelowna Family Photographer is the best!
Enjoy these images of this sweet and silly family!
The best thing about being a Kelowna Newborn Photographer? Just take a little look at this sweet baby boy and you’ll understand. Oh, and his smell. I wish you could all smell that newborn baby smell through the computer screen because IT. IS. GLORIOUS.
I made my way over to this beautiful family’s home for their in-home newborn session. They were unable to get newborn portraits done immediately after their little man was born, so believe it or not, he was almost a month old when this session took place. You would never know it because he was still less than 8lbs and slept like a dream!
To be completely honest, I could’ve photographed this little guy all day long!
While we are on the topic, let’s talk about in-home newborn photography sessions…. if you’re expecting and are on the fence about having an in-studio or in-home session, here are some reasons why your home might make the perfect location:
You don’t have to leave your home.
You are the most comfortable and stress-free in your own home. Leaving the house with a newborn can be a lot of work and can feel very stressful.
You still have time to get ready if I arrive and you aren’t quite camera-ready.
No packing a diaper bag.
Feeding and changing the baby in the comfort of your own home.
No car rides with a newborn (and if your newborn is like 2 of my 3 newborns, this is the best reason to have an in-home newborn photography session).
You can’t forget anything that you may have wanted to use for the portrait session.
You can have your baby’s nursery documented.
The images you choose to display in your home will already match your decor!
If you still need some convincing… just take a look at these images!
Often times, children don’t want to have their photographs taken. But if you make them love you, they will let you take their portrait! During this session, I gave piggybacks, raced, rolled around on the ground, went on a Bear Hunt, let the kids take pictures, and I even wiped some noses. After a small incident involving a dog and an adorable little girl, the session was under way and we were having fun!
I know Laura through the wedding industry – she is an incredible wedding planner and owner of English Rose Weddings. She’s the best to work with at weddings and behind the camera!
Thanks for letting me hang out with your adorable family, Laura!
First comes love, second comes marriage, then comes a baby in a baby carriage!
This little nursery rhyme proved true for Amanda & Ryan, who fell in love over coffee, had a beautiful wedding at the Eldorado Hotel in Kelowna (you can see it here), and then created a little masterpiece named Mr.Parker. A work of art, he is!
I’ve known from the day I met Amanda and Ryan, that they would make great parents. In fact, I feel like I should win a prize for predicting that they would have a baby within the first year of their marriage! Amanda just oozes all the beautiful qualities of a mother and it seems like Parker is her third, forth, or fifth baby, not her first. She holds him, calms him, and snuggles him with care and confidence. And there is something just slightly more beautiful about her since the last time I saw her – and I can’t put my finger on it. I’m sure Parker has something to do with that 😉 And Ryan – well… geeez. Just wait until you see the father-son Hallmark moments from this session. Oh and that suitcase that Parker is snuggled up in – it was Ryan’s grandfather’s! I love incorporating personal touches like that.
Of course, I can’t leave out Daisy, Parker’s doggy sibling. Every time I photograph Ryan and Amanda, Daisy steals the show. It doesn’t even matter though because she is so darn adorable!
I loved snuggling your baby, Amanda and Ryan! Please have some more! (too soon??)
Please people, bring me your babies and I will give you beautiful photos in exchange for snuggles<3

Tabatha and I are gym friends. When I found out she was expecting I said “I AM TAKING YOUR MATERNITY PHOTOS!” because I just love her little family so.
Tabatha and Denis have two little beauties and are expecting another sweet baby girl. They live right by a park so we decided to head down to the beach for their maternity and family session.
I can not wait to snuggle this little one when she arrives! Stay tuned for their newborn session in August!
I can’t say how many warm and fuzzies I feel when a previous client comes back to document another milestone. Krista, Ivan and I met when they were expecting their first little one, Sloan, whose adorableness you can see below. The last time I saw her, she was a week old!!
She likes dirt, rocks, getting white dresses dirty, smiling, saying “awww done!”, being independent, giving kisses and also, giving more hugs and kisses. She’s SUCH a sweetie and she’s going to make an amazing big sister to a little brother in a few short weeks!
Congratulations Krista and Ivan! I can’t wait to meet baby Dorie!
